For almost sixty years, Waypoint has harnessed the power of community to support individuals with disabilities in leading fulfilling lives. As a nonprofit organization, our mission is to support and empower children and adults with intellectual and other disabilities to reach their fullest potential.
Now, with the official merger of The Progress Center and Waypoint Maine, we begin a new chapter, one rooted in shared values and a deep commitment to compassionate, community-based care.
This merger is more than a structural change—it’s a powerful affirmation of our shared mission: to support every person we serve to live a life of dignity, purpose, and possibility.
Together, across Southern and Western Maine, we provide services for individuals and families living with:
- Intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Autism spectrum disorders
- Behavioral health challenges
Whether you’re a longtime member of The Progress Center community or new to Waypoint, you’ll continue to receive the same compassionate, high-quality services you’ve come to trust—now with expanded resources and a broader network of support.
