Waypoint Maine proudly hosted its inaugural Music Fest, formerly known as Tele-Fest, at their historic waterfront camp on Bauneg Beg Lake in Sanford. The event was a resounding success, raising over $71,000 to provide specialized programs and services for children with special needs.
The festivities kicked off with a performance by local band Dock Squares, followed by an incredible show by the iconic Motor Booty Affair. During the event, Waypoint Maine officials presented the “Making a Difference Awards.” Steven Cabana, a dedicated staff member, was recognized for his committed service to Waypoint Maine. Rick Barnaby received the community service award for his work with therapy dogs that support both adult and children’s programs at Waypoint Maine.
“It was great to see the Sanford community come together to help support Waypoint Maine,” said Jennifer Putnam, Waypoint Maine’s Executive Director. “We heard from our volunteers, entertainers, and guests that they thoroughly enjoyed themselves and ultimately made this first-ever Music Fest a success!”
More than forty businesses generously supported the event, including event lead sponsor HM Payson, along with our major sponsors Breezeline and Central Furniture. Numerous other individuals and small businesses also contributed to the success of the festival.
Throughout its more than half a century of existence, Waypoint Maine’s Music Fest has raised more than $2.9 million to benefit Waypoint Maine and support programs and services for children with autism, intellectual, and developmental disabilities.
